In Flames

Listen In Flames play now :

In Flames is a melodic death metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden founded in 1990. Along with Dark Tranquillity and At the Gates, they pioneered what is now known as melodic death metal. They have released nine albums since 1994.

In Flames' musical style is characterized by the constant use of harmonized lead guitar melodies. In early albums such as The Jester Race, In Flames would many times employ two harmonized lead guitars playing over a rhythm guitar. However, since the band only has two guitar players, they found it hard to reproduce those songs during live performances and ever since Reroute to Remain they have focused on writing songs with the intention of playing them live.

In Flames' vocal style is characterized by the use of growled vocals complemented at times by clean vocals. In more recent albums such as Come Clarity, the band makes more prominent use of clean vocals, especially during choruses. In Flames' lyrics have also varied during their career. In early albums such as The Jester Race and Whoracle, In Flames' lyrics focused on astrology, mankind, and other global themes. In later albums such as Soundtrack to Your Escape and Come Clarity, In Flames' lyrics focus more on personal issues, thoughts, and other introspective themes. In Flames have, since the release of Reroute to Remain, started to incorporate many influences from modern metal genres - the later albums have had a strong alternative metal, nu metal and metalcore influence on them.

Manowar

Listen Manowar play now :

Manowar is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York, which formed in 1980, known for writing lyrics with an emphasis on fantasy and mythological topics, particularly Norse mythology. Manowar's sound is loud and bombastic; in an interview for MTV in February 2007, bassist Joey DeMaio lamented that "these days, there's a real lack of big, epic metal that is drenched with crushing guitars and choirs and orchestras ... so it's nice to be one of the few bands that's actually doing that."[1] In 1984 the band was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for delivering the loudest performance, a record which they have tried to break several times since.

Although the band has never been a mainstream commercial success, it has a strong cult following - dedicated fans are known and referred to by the band as "Manowarriors" or "Immortals" - and is popular in Europe.

Stryper

Listen Stryper play now :

Stryper is a metal band from Orange County, California, USA. Formed in 1983, Stryper is recognized as the first openly heavy metal band to gain recognition in the mainstream music world. Their hit ballad "Honestly" is often ranked among the greatest ballads of the 1980s. Their message of salvation and religion has also made them popular with some elements of the media.
However, Stryper has not been free of controversy. Many legalistic religious groups criticized the group for being members of the heavy metal industry, which some of them saw as being close to Satanic music. Others saw the band's flashy dress as contradictory to the faith they claimed to represent. Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart led opposition to the group, likening their practice of distributing the New Testament at their shows to "casting pearls before swine". In 1990 Rolling Stone Magazine reported the band.
